“The drama (He’s Alive!) that Deanna presented on Good Friday for the female unit created quite “a buzz”. Several women were still talking about it when I met with them two days later. The Life, Death & Resurrection of Jesus Christ
LENGTH: 45 minutes (Performed since 2011)
The Gospel story for the Easter Season and the rest of the year!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Sometimes we need to be reminded how much God loves us. Jesus, the Christ, came to our world to reveal the extent of His Father’s love for all mankind. He willing suffered and died on a Roman cross to show us this love, but the power of the gospel is that the grave could not hold the Son of God!
My drama, He’s ALIVE! brings the gospel to life, through the eyes of a woman who was changed forever by the Son of God.
Scripture tells us that after being delivered from seven demons by Jesus, Mary Magdalene (Luke 8:1-3), follows Him. She was not alone because a number of other women followed Him, too.
Mary watches Jesus heal the blind, deaf, crippled and lepers. She sees Him perform countless miracles. Listens as He teaches the multitudes and trains twelve ordinary men.
But the religious leaders feel threatened by this man from Nazareth who claims to be God Himself. So, what is Mary to do when the One she has come to love is betrayed by one of His own, then flogged and put to death on a Roman cross?
Has her hope been in vain?
Was Jesus of Nazareth merely a man, a deceiver like the religious leaders accused him of being? Was He just a good man? A prophet? Could He really forgive people’s sins?
Three days later Mary would be one of the first to discover an empty tomb and a risen Savior.
The Son of God is alive!
