The Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ
“Thanks for giving us such a powerful reminder of what the gospel is all about and our purpose…to go and tell…very powerful.” Calgary Full Gospel Church, Calgary, AB
“It felt like I was living the New Testament’s teachings and stories. I really understood Christ’s sacrifice for me. I loved Mary Magdalene’s personality. You made her believable.” Women’s Ministry Leader, Park Meadows Baptist Church, Lethbridge, AB
“The drama (He’s Alive!) that Deanna presented on Good Friday for the female unit created quite “a buzz”. Several women were still talking about it when I met with them two days later. People are discovering and experiencing God through her ministry. Thank you for bringing hope to many hurting women.” Chaplain, Lethbridge Correctional Center, Lethbridge, AB
LENGTH: 45 minutes (Performed since 2011)
The Gospel story for the Easter Season and the rest of the year!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Sometimes we need to be reminded how much God love us. Jesus, the Christ, came to our world to reveal the extent of His Father’s love for all mankind. He willing suffered and died on a Roman cross to show us this love, but the power of the gospel is that the grave could not hold the Son of God!
He’s Alive! dramatizes the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of a woman whose life was changed forever by the Son of God. After being delivered from seven demons by Jesus, Mary Magdalene (Luke 8:1-3) follows Him, along with a number of other women. Mary watches Jesus heal the blind, deaf, crippled and lepers. She sees Him perform countless miracles, listens as He teaches the multitudes and trains twelve ordinary men.
But the religious leaders feel threatened by this man from Nazareth who claims to be God Himself. So, what is Mary to do when the One she has come to love is betrayed by one of His own, then flogged and put to death on a Roman cross? Has her hope been in vain? Was He merely a man, a deceiver like the religious leaders accused him of being? Three days later Mary would be one of the first to discover an empty tomb and a risen Savior. The Son of God is alive!
I always say to the women inmates, whom I, and four other amazing women, minister to regularly in our city, “If you want to know who God really is, then read the gospels and get to know who Jesus was, is and forever will be!”
